IELT Practice Essay Question
Many students are preparing to take their IELT exam and want to practice the essay portion before hand. This week, for the writing course, I decided to dedicate our time to preparing for your exam.
I.E.L.T.S stands for International English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency worldwide.
Below is the sample essays that students like you submitted. One of the most important steps to writing is to brainstorm (think about your answer) first. Organize your ideas on paper and make sure to include an introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion.
Preparing an outline in advance will save you time, guide your writing and ensure that you cover all the information that you would like to include in your essay.
I will edit your paper, but I also invite everyone to leave comments and suggestions to each other. This will create a more forum like feel to the writing course and you will also learn more as you interact with one another. Be creative and have fun!

Preparing for this exam takes a lot of time, effort and (unfortunately) money. Most of your time will be spent learning how to write the exam, so that you can have enough time to finish all the sections.
This pressure, in addition to using your English successfully, makes it quite difficult to achieve the results many desire.
My advice?
- Write lots of practice exams.
- Talk to other students who have written the test successfully and ask them specific questions about what it was like doing the exam. Writing lots of practice exams and preparing for each section of the exam specifically can help you achieve your goals.
- Surround yourself in English (listening, reading writing and speaking) everyday.
