Past Continuous: St. John's hill

by Hong
(Malaysia)

Hong uses the past continuous to describe her experience of discovering St. John's fort. I was jogging with my parents in St. John's hill in Malacca, Malaysia. While we were reaching the top, my parents go went back down the hill while as I continued up to top. Instead At the top I found St. John's fort. It was half destroyed. Half the fort somehow was destroyed and the only thing that were was still standing is was the first floor, which seemed to be supporting cannons and old wooden objects. I was wondering how could these objects could have survived as half the fort was destroyed but my thoughts stopped when my parents called me to come back home.

Great work Hong! You use the past continuous VERY WELL! I corrected a couple grammar mistakes (signular verses plural) but in general you did a nice job! Now it's time for Lesson two of the writing course! Keep up the great work everyone! -Diana
