How do you find examples of the present perfect in a short telephone conversation?

Hi Sunil,

When you use the present perfect you are thinking about the past and the present at the same time. For example: I've hurt my back. We use the present perfect because "I hurt my back in the past" and "it is still hurt now". (Present and past at the same time).

If you want to identify examples of the present perfect in telephone conversation (or at any time), just look for actions or events that involve the past and present at the same time.

I have bought the cake for the party.
I haven't called Julia yet
I've organized the flowers for the wedding.

I have received the files.
I have ordered the new books.
I have written the addresses down.
