question about word POISE

by Amity
(India)

Hi I am from India and English is my Second Language. My name is Amit. I am looking for a job and I need an adjective to describe myself & my skill-set. I've tried many but most of them were already taken. The ID/adjective I've chosen to describe myself is POISED; so my ID is poisedamit.

Do you think it’s grammatically correct? Should I change it to amitpoised?

This is confusing me; which one is appealing - amitpoised or poisedamit? and why?

Please help me, I've got nowhere to go.

Hi Amit,

I am assuming that you are creating an id for an online job application community. Is that correct? If so, my first suggestion would be to use your name alone. For example, diana-tower could be mine. I would also use something to separate the words like a period (.) or a dash (-) or else people might not read your id correctly.

For example, I wouldn't use "poisedamit" because the first thing I saw when I read it was poise-damit and damit looks like the shortened form of "damn it", which is a softer form of cursing or swearing.

If you want to use the word I would suggest dividing the name with punctuation

poised.amit or poised-amit

I hope that helps.
Diana
