Autobiography

by Jambulingam
(Bangalore Karnataka India)

I studied in a village school and later went to film school in Madras. I did not join a film studio because they offered me a meager pay and they were of the opinion that film making could not be learnt in a school in after only three years. So I joined military school as an audiovisual instructor.

I became a central government defense employee and enjoyed all the benefits of being military personnel. During my leisure time, I used to listen to the radio programs. We did not have TVs back in those days, so I started writing short stories for the Radio.

Many of my stories were broadcast by All India Radio and Srilankan Broadcasting -Asian service. But my stories were written in my mother tongue Tamil. Listeners used to comment on my stories. I had drawn based my characters for my stories on people from my village and other places I visited and lived.

In terms of education, I obtained my B.A. degree from Bangalore University as a private candidate.

Now I am planning to translate all my stories into English. After this, each story will be corrected and posted here on after getting the stories corrected one by one for grammatical mistakes and style in this site.

Some day I would like to publish a book of short Stories. I hope my dream will come true with the help of my English coach, Diana.
