Many people would like to work at home but they don't know how they can actually achieve that dream.
In 2008 I moved to a new city and rather than look for a new job right away I decided to invest in my future for the next 6 months.
I started to work at home building this website.
Many people view unemployment as a horrible and undesirable thing. I chose to see it as an opportunity.
Now, I must admit that most people need to have a job to pay their bills and support themselves and their family but I was lucky.
My husband was able to support us over that 6 month period, so I was free to do what I had always wanted to do...work at home building my own online business.
To some, building a successful website and business didn’t sound realistic but am proving them wrong. After only a year, my website was paying for itself and later started paying my phone bill and gym membership (as of December 2010). This isn't the most exciting part though.
...work at home and choose my work schedule and holidays, 365 days a year (I recently reduced my availability for teaching so I now only teach 4 days a week in the afternoons).
...visit my family and friends in Canada, whenever I want to without working around a full time job.
...gain 100% mobility and freedom with my business in my laptop.
...focus on something that I am passionate about and I am able to work on it all day without feeling frustrated or drained (it’s amazing what passion can do).
...eliminate worries about retirement and dwindling pensions that might not support me when I retire (a website works around the clock 24/7 for the rest of your life and beyond.)
Now you might be thinking, "Awesome, I’m going to throw a website or blog together and quit my day job and work at home", well it isn’t that easy (although it is a simple process with SBI).
With the help of SBI (Site Build It) and their all-in-one comprehensive 10 day business building course, tools and support I (along with many other SBI’ers) have been able to launch a successful online business.
Looking at those 6 months in particular, people often wonder what it was like and ask me questions about it. Here are some of the most common questions I receive;
Initially, I was not making money because, like any business, you must invest time and effort in the beginning. This allows you to set the foundation for a successful business in the future.
It took me less than a year to have the website paying for itself and as of December 2010 I use my Google Ad income to pay my phone bill and my gym membership.
To be honest I do get frustrated sometimes, but not about money. My main frustration is that I have so many ideas and not enough time to add them to the website. Like I said, I am passionate about this website and the people I am helping, so the idea of working on it all day isn't stressful at all; I wish I had more time actually.
Plus I know that things are only getting better and better. I just recently reduced my teaching hours and I am focusing on developing my own resources, services and products, which will help support myself and the site in the future.
Well, when you move past their sales pitch (their website is quite sales oriented which sometimes scares people away) you will discover a resource like no other on the net.
I remember how nervous I was when I first purchased SBI. I had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that it could be a scam but I was willing to take the risk (not a big one as they have a 90 money back guarantee).
I now work at home and I never regretted buying SBI, it really has and is changing my life.
I also highly recommend SBI because it allows normal people to create hugely successful websites. You don’t need a degree in computer science or html to do it. All you need is a computer, an Internet connection and the knowledge to send an email and you are well on your way.
I also love the "10 day Action Guide" which walks you step by step through the process. You really feel like someone is taking your hand and walking you through the entire website building process (TIP: Don’t rush...I did a bit and I realize now how important all the research and brainstorming is).
You bet you can. Many SBI’ers work part time on their websites and they are very successful, it just takes longer. You will hear about people who work at home on their websites for only an hour a night, or sometimes just on the weekends.
Mothers who stay at home build their websites while their children take their afternoon naps and university students can create their websites on the weekends or after class. It all depends on you and how much time you can dedicate to the process.
Looking back on those 6 months when I was jobless makes me realize how lucky I was to have found SBI and that I dared to dream. Many people think that it sounds too good to be true and I can understand why they would think that initially.
Here is the reality. SBI doesn't magically make you a millionaire. You must work hard on your business in order to be successful.The difference is, that with SBI they make the technical processes simple or sometimes even automatic which allows you to focus on your passion.
As we continue to struggle through this economic crisis all over the world, I encourage you to consider what building an online business could do for you.
It could help you:
* pay your bills
* earn money for a well deserved vacation
* reduce the pressure and stress that you may feel about money
* retire early
* spend more time with your loved ones as you work at home.
