We should not have taken our jackets off.

I can't understand every word.

We must leave early.
We had to leave early.

We're allowed to invite who we want to.
We were not allowed to invite who we wanted to.

I don't have to go to work.

How did I know that "must" does not have a past form? I looked it up in "Practical English Usage".
