Eating Healthy?

I often see the term 'eating healthy' on the internet. Shouldn't it be 'eating healthily'?

I think that there are many options here, because people have put these words together when they speak.

It isn't grammatically correct, as you would need to say "eating healthy _____ (something...like food)" or "healthy eating"...(eating in a healthy way).

"Eating healthy" is colloquial and is used more in spoken English. It is refers to eating healthy food etc but removes the food.

Some examples:

Eating healthy can be difficult.
Eating healthy at Christmas time is a challenge.
I like eating healthy.

I hope that helps.

Eating healthy (what???)
by: Teri White

The internet is full of bad English. I know "Eating Healthy" is (too) often used but it is bad English and I would rather not speak the language incorrectly. So thank you for clearing that up. I'll stick to the correct usage.
