English Introductions

by amit
(gzb,up,india)

Hi Diana, I have a question about introductions and also what to say when you are leaving. Many people say: "myself Amit" is that correct?

Sadly, no. When do people say that? If you are introducing yourself you would say

Hi, I'm Amit (directly introducing yourself to someone)

Hello, My name is Amit (introducing yourself to a group)

We use myself when you do something or refer to something about yourself.

I never hurt myself. (Do something to myself...)

Many people also say:"chow chow" in place of bye bye. Is this right? (I don't know the correct spelling of chow chow)

"Ciao" isn't English, but it is correct. It is actually Italian (sounds like chow). Also, just say it once "ciao". It is perfectly normal for English speakers to say goodbye by saying "ciao".

What are some other ways to say goodbye?

Goodbye
Bye
Bye bye
See ya (you)
See ya later (soon, tomorrow, in an hour etc)
Take care
Catch ya later

Do you know another way to say goodbye?

Another way to say goodbye: "See you, wouldn't want to be you", hahaha!

This is true but be careful. It can be seen as mean or rude.
