How to write this sentence correctly?

by Swetha
(vijayawada)

What is the mistake in the following sentence? When I reached the station, the train left.

This depends on a couple things Swetha. If you are trying to say that when you reached the station the train left... (you reaching the station and the train left at the same moment) then the sentence would be correct. It would be more comfortable to say it the other way around though,

The train left when I reached the station.

If you want to say that the train was gone when you arrived or reached the station you could write it this way;

When I reached the station, the train had already left.
