"I'm Amit" or "My name is Amit"

by Amit
(gzb,up,india)

If I say: "me is Amit", would I be right?

Please tell me. I'm very confused about this.

Hi Amit,

I'm Diana and I'd like to help you with your question. If you say "me is Amit" you would be incorrect. The correct expression, when you are introducing yourself is:

Hi, I'm Amit (when you are being introduced or introducing yourself to someone directly).

You could also say:

My name is Amit.
You might say this when you are introducing yourself to a group of people.

I hope that helps you Amit!
Have a great day!
Diana
