I'm going to do the TOEIC Test

by Wan
(Thailand)

I would like to be smart in English. Speaking and Writing it proficiently. I would like to get a high score on the TOEIC test. What I should I do?

I also want to find foreign friends. Where can I find them? Thank you for your information.

Hi Wan,

Thank you for writing me. Regarding the TOEIC test I do not have any experience with the exam so I am not the best person to ask about it.

I can give you a general idea about it though and offer some suggestions, but my best advice would be to contact the company that provides the exam and ask them what sort of preparation the exam requires.

What is the TOEIC Exam

This English Test produced by ETS (Educational Testing Service).

TOEIC tests consist of questions based on real-life work settings in an international environment (travel, meetings, telephone conversations, etc).

Who should take this exam?

TOEIC is generally used by organizations or companies to see if an employee has the correct level of English for a particular job.

Passing the TOEIC can be useful if you are looking to work for a large international company.

What are you tested on?

There are two parts to the TOEIC test:
1.Listening and Reading. This is a written exam that takes about 2.5 hours.

2. Speaking and Writing. This is an online test that is taken in a test center and takes approximately 90 minutes. The Speaking and Writing test is a new test which not available in all countries so you would need to check what the test includes in Thailand.

Has anyone taken the TOEIC test? Do you have any advice that you could share with Wan? Share your advice and experience by leaving a comment!
