Longest Word in English

(mombasa kenya)

What is the longest English word and what does it mean? Good question. Wikipedia to the rescue. I had no idea what the longest English word was and it seems like there isn't "one" word that everyone agrees on. There are several competing for the honor including:

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
According to the Oxford English dictionary, this refers to "a factitious word alleged to mean 'a lung disease caused by the inhalation of very fine silica dust, causing inflammation in the lungs."
