Rebecca does not communicate with others

by Shreya
(India)

I am a software developer. I have to interact with UK or US based clients. But the problem is, when I am on call with them I can't understand what they mean. Again, sometimes I cant understand their mails(because of very difficult words used) and if I understand the mails, can't find the proper words to reply. Please give me suggesstions. Thanks

Hi Shreya,

The best advice I can give you is to ask questions and ask people to explain themselves. If you don't understand them, then they need to try to explain themselves in a different way.

Another things you can do is listen to English EVERY day so that you can improve your listening comprehension.

As for understandin emails better, I would suggest reading lots of email related to your job.

I know it sounds pretty simple, but all you have to do is do these things. After some time and effort you will notice an improvement.

Cheers,

Diana
