Thank you for Dealing with " Effortless English" & Its Claim

by Selma

Does this course really work?

Does this course really work?

I was wondering if Effortless English works. I believe that everything needs effort but my key point is different; I have been studying English for two year and unfortunately I am not a good speaker.

As a matter of fact, I was not expecting to be a good speaker in a short period of time.

Within the processing of learning I dealt with grammar and I also followed all these recommendations:

-Listening, reading, writing and speaking (not much).

-Becoming a member in some English clubs, e-mail courses, Linguistics materials, subscribing to different type of Podcasts,

-British and Us English style.

-I really did read in different fields; Politics, finance, magazine etc. News & Biography, dialog and watching TV Series all the time.

Now after everything, I can't speak, in spite of putting off my routine life and even following my professional issues. I must have made a mistake in my learning strategy, :(

I am frustrated living in English.

DIANA, please do you have any advice for me?

I am waiting to see if this "Effortless English course" is good or not.

Thank you.

I'm Gathering Information
by: Diana Tower

Hi Selma,

Sorry to take so long to leave a comment for you. As you can see from this section of the site, visitors are starting to add their own personal reactions to the course (which I believe are great indicators of how a course is).

For the most part the reactions have been the same or very similar. "Effortless English works...but it gets boring repeating the same thing 5 times a week."

Now, I wanted to take a minute to talk about you specifically. Looking at your comment I can see why you are stuggling. Look at what you said...

"-Listening, reading, writing and speaking (not much)".

Right there...not speaking much is what you need to change. If you would like to speak better then you must practice and become more comfortable doing it.

Speaking with others and using English as a means of communication is very different from writing or studying grammar. According to Robby Kukurs (the creator of English Harmony) you must force yourself to speak in English, not to translate from your native language and also to learn groups of words (rather than vocabulary out of context).

I totally agree with Robby and maybe this is what you have been doing. I do not doubt for a second that you haven't dedicated hundreds of hours to improving your English, but maybe you were focusing your efforts on information or material that wasn't vital to speaking English.

Robby Kukurs is the creator of www.englishharmony.com, a website he created in 2007 to help struggling foreign English speakers gain real English fluency.

I'd like to know how well this course works too. I want to hear Pablo speak English in a month. I feel he will improve.

Do others know this course?
